Installation: 4 boards, 450 x 550 mm each, wood, metal sticks and tubes, rubber, metal balls
"Music Boards" is an interactive installation created together with architect and designer Martina Schlusnus. It is both, musical and visual piece that could be read as an embodiment of musical notation translated into architecture, where different sounds, rhythms and timbres are shaped into pieces of varying size and materials, activated by a metal ball. "Music Boards" is an interactive musical instrument that invites visitors to play with it. The tiny sounds gain strength through the means of amplification and analogue guitar pedals. The pre-composed scores can easily be varied by throwing multiple balls or playing more than one board at once.
